Political Affairs/Electoral Analyst Intern – UN DPPA (Hybrid/Remote)

The United Nations is seeking a motivated Political Affairs Intern to join the Electoral Assistance Division (EAD) within the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) in New York. The Role: Your Impact as an Electoral Analyst Intern
As an Electoral Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the work of the Electoral Assistance Division. We will assign you to the UN Headquarters, but we will consider a hybrid or remote setting based on your request. Your daily responsibilities will depend on your background, the nature of specific projects, and the internship duration.
Your responsibilities may include:

Document Preparation: You will assist in drafting and preparing official documents and correspondence, such as background papers, talking points, briefing materials, and speeches.

Meeting Support: In addition, you will attend and take notes during trainings, conferences, and meetings, and help with their logistical preparations.

Research & Analysis: To be specific, you will conduct research and media analysis, gather and update country-specific information, and assist with the EAD’s institutional memory database.

Data & Reporting: Furthermore, you will help create dashboards and reports, perform ad-hoc data analysis, and present results clearly.

Other Duties: Finally, you will perform other related duties as required.

Who We’re Looking For: Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this UN internship, you must be a student in the final year of your first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), a Master’s or Ph.D. program, or have recently completed one of these programs. You do not need professional work experience.
We are looking for someone with:

Language Skills: Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.

Technical Skills: You should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
