Washington, DC Internship Fall 2025 – Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)

Internship Details

  • Program: Blavatnik Internship Program & Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program

  • Schedule: Fall 2025

  • Location: In-person at CFR’s Washington, DC office (14–18 hours/week). Some positions may allow remote work.

  • Compensation: $18.00 per hour (all internships are paid)

  • Application Deadline: Sunday, July 20

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist CFR staff with preparing briefing materials

  • Conduct research using approved CFR databases

  • Write, review, and edit CFR content

  • Support staff with administrative tasks and cross-departmental collaboration

  • Help organize meetings and events

  • Additional duties vary by team (see individual position descriptions)

Qualifications

  • Interest in and knowledge of current foreign policy issues preferred

  • Completion of at least four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes)

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Additional requirements may apply for specific roles
