About the Opportunity

Join the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund – Office of Investment Management (OIM) as a Public Information Intern and gain hands-on experience in global communications, digital media, and policy content development. OIM manages a $90+ billion investment portfolio across multiple asset classes and is based in New York City, with a diverse team from over 40 countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, draft, and edit public information and policy materials for web and digital platforms (in English, French, and Spanish).

  • Support the design and creation of digital media, including social media posts, and analyze engagement metrics.

  • Assist in maintaining the OIM intranet and the UNJSPF website.

  • Compile, analyze, and organize data for internal reports.

  • Attend meetings and prepare concise summaries.

  • Contribute to various communications and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. program (final year students are eligible).

  • Field of study must be relevant to the internship.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, and MS Teams.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) is a plus.

  • Experience drafting news articles or social media posts is desirable.

  • Ability to design surveys and polls is advantageous.

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Knowledge of French or another official UN language is an asset.

  • This is an unpaid internship. All costs related to travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsor.

  • Non-US citizens/permanent residents may need to secure the appropriate visa and work authorization.
