The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Spanish Social Media Intern. This is a unique opportunity to use your writing and editing skills to support a UN global development network. The position is a home-based internship, allowing you to work from anywhere.


About UNDP & Your Communications Role

UNDP, the UN’s global development network, works to help people build a better life in 177 countries. As a result, skillful communication is critical to our mission. Therefore, we rely on the Office of Communications to lead our online outreach.

You will report to the Spanish Web and Social Media Specialist within the Digital Communications Studio (DCS). Consequently, your role involves conceptualizing and creating engaging content for web and social media. In this role, you will help us with campaigns, events, and other promotional efforts.

Your Responsibilities as a Spanish Content Creator

  • First, you will research content and produce original material for our Spanish social media platforms (Facebook, X).
  • Furthermore, you will provide follow-up and support for our global campaigns, ensuring audience engagement on Spanish platforms.
  • In addition, you will produce graphic material for use on our Spanish social media channels.
  • Next, you will assist in curating and presenting stories, images, and videos in UNDP’s web content management system.
  • Likewise, you will review and edit web stories, headlines, and captions in both Spanish and English.
  • Finally, you will assist in translating and proofreading Spanish-language content, ensuring optimal web presentation.

 

What We’re Looking For in an Intern

We seek a proactive and skilled individual with strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Your Experience & Skills

  • You must meet one of these requirements: you must either be enrolled in a graduate degree program, be in the final year of a bachelor’s program, or have graduated within the last year.
  • We consider web and social media experience a valuable asset for this Spanish Social Media Intern role.
  • You must be a native Spanish speaker and fluent in written and spoken English. French is also desirable.
  • For this role, you must be available to work at least four days a week.
  • You must also have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Furthermore, you must be aware of political sensitivities and be able to work in a multicultural environment.
