The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) offers a Monitoring and Evaluation Internship in New York. This is a unique opportunity for students to contribute to global policy leadership. The internship offers no pay and runs for 3 to 6 months. Importantly, while the role is based in New York and is full-time, you can adjust your schedule to be part-time (20 hours per week) or remote based on your needs.

About the Role


This internship is in the Prosecution, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (PRR) Unit of UNOCT. The PRR Unit provides strategic counter-terrorism policy advice and analysis. Furthermore, the team promotes coordination and coherence across the UN system’s counter-terrorism efforts. This is a chance to contribute to the policy leadership functions of UNOCT. You will report to a Political Affairs Officer, under the overall guidance of the Senior Political Affairs Officer and Chief of the Section.

In addition, you must have a field of study closely related to the internship. No prior work experience is necessary. You must have fluency in spoken and written English, while knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
