Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Analysis: The intern will support research, analysis, and information presentation. This includes using data from diverse sources, for instance, UN Country Teams, youth organizations, and academia.

  • Drafting & Documentation: The intern will provide support in drafting background papers, analysis, and sections of reports and studies. Additionally, this person provides documentation support for consultative meetings, particularly with the diplomatic community.

  • Logistics & Administration: The intern will assist with logistical tasks, including documentation support on agenda, participant lists, and the preparation of documents and presentations.

Qualifications & Skills for UN Youth Office Internship


  • Education: To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: You must enroll in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent), be in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher), or have completed a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program.

  • Experience: Applicants do not need professional work experience; however, you must study a field related to the internship. Experience in youth engagement or intergovernmental affairs is a plus.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is a requirement. Knowing another official UN language gives you an advantage.
