About the Role
The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of governors working to advance state-led climate action. In support of this, the Secretariat, a team of climate experts, provides assistance to the member states. For this reason, this internship focuses on the federal and external affairs side of that work. Consequently, you will gain a deep understanding of the relationship between state and federal climate policies.
Federal and External Affairs Intern
What You Will Do
As an intern, you will assist the team with a variety of tasks. Your main responsibilities include:
- Research & Policy: First, you will conduct research on federal climate policy and track how states implement it. A key part of your work will involve analyzing the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
- Coordination: Next, you will provide general support to the team and help prepare materials for major Alliance meetings.
- Communication: In addition, you will contribute to the drafting of newsletters and help track federal funding opportunities for climate initiatives.
This is a part-time position; consequently, it has an expected workload of 20-29 hours per week on a fixed schedule.
