The Department of Peace Operations (DPO) actively seeks a motivated DDR Programming Support Intern UN for its Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) Section in New York, USA. This presents an excellent opportunity; you will directly contribute to critical peacebuilding efforts and global security initiatives.

This unpaid, full-time internship runs for three months, with a possibility of extension to six months. You will work within a hybrid arrangement at the UN Premises in New York, United States. The DDR Section (DDRS) provides strategic and technical advice, alongside planning and operational support, for DDR processes worldwide. Furthermore, DDRS develops related tools like community violence reduction (CVR) and transitional weapons and ammunition management (TWAM) across various countries and regional contexts, from Latin America to Africa and Asia. This particular DDR Programming Support role will specifically focus on supporting the 2025 annual DDR Symposium and contributing to the DDR quarterly newsletter.
