About This Baltimore Refugee Support Internship
As an Intake Services Intern, you’ll be on the front lines. Specifically, you’ll assist our intake team with vital daily activities that welcome and empower new arrivals. You’ll also serve as the initial point of contact for walk-in clients, including asylum seekers, parolees, and secondary migrants. Internship Details for Fall 2025

Format: This Fall 2025 internship will be a blend of in-person work at the IRC Baltimore office, remote work, and occasional field time within the greater Baltimore area.

Dates: The internship begins with a mandatory in-person orientation on Wednesday, October 9th, 2025 (approx. 9:30 AM – 3 PM). Consequently, regular weekly hours will run from the week of October 13th, 2025, through January 23rd, 2026 (15 total weeks).

Equipment: Interns will receive an IRC laptop for the internship’s duration to facilitate both remote and in-office responsibilities.

Reimbursement: This is an unpaid internship, but university credit can be arranged. However, Fall 2025 interns are eligible for a $15 per diem reimbursement (for 7.5 hours) to help offset food and travel costs. Additionally, mileage for approved activities (round-trip from the IRC office) will also be reimbursed for this refugee support internship.
